Suomen 1325-verkosto järjestää: Education for Inclusive Peace -seminaari 29.11. Tervetuloa mukaan!

Tule kuulemaan ja keskustelemaan opetuksen ja tutkimuksen merkityksestä YK:n turvallisuusneuvoston Naiset, rauha ja turvallisuus -päätöslauselman edistämisessä Pohjoismaissa.

Education for Inclusive Peace -seminaari järjestetään etätapahtumana maanantaina 29.11 klo. 12.00–16.00.

Tapahtuman järjestäjinä toimivat Suomen 1325-verkosto, opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö sekä Helsingin yliopisto.

Tapahtumassa kuullaan johtavien tutkijoiden, opetusalan ammattilaisten sekä päätöksentekijöiden havaintoja opetuksen ja koulutuksen merkityksestä rauhanrakennuksessa ja sukupuolten tasa-arvon edistämisessä.

Tapahtuma järjestetään englanniksi. Ilmoittautuminen tapahtumaan on avoinna 23.11. asti.

Suomen 1325-verkosto on yhteensä 20 kansalaisjärjestön sekä tutkijoiden ja yksittäisten asiantuntijoiden yhteistyöverkosto, jonka tavoitteena on edistää YK:n turvallisuusneuvoston Naiset, rauha ja turvallisuus -päätöslauselman (1325) ja siihen temaattisesti liittyvien päätöslauselmien toimeenpanoa. Education for Inclusive Peace: the role of education and research in promoting the Women, Peace and Security agenda in the Nordics

Monday 29 November 2021, 12:00-16:00 CET+1

Join us for an afternoon of learning and discussion on ways to harness the education sector to promote inclusive peace and security in the Nordics and globally. This seminar, organised as part of the Finnish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, brings together an exciting programme of discussions by leading academics, educators, and policymakers.

Author and social critic Minna Salami will deliver the keynote lecture titled Change Starts with Knowledge: Unlearning and Reimagining Our Worldviews for Women’s Emancipation.

In panel discussions and roundtables, we will explore topics such as:

• the role of education and educators in promoting an inclusive and sustainable peace in different learning environments
• the potential of international education collaboration in furthering peacebuilding and gender equality
• the potential of collaboration between researchers and policymakers in the making of Women, Peace and Security policy
